Does anyone know how the bayonet for the SA80 is carried with the Osprey?
I am bashing a Para with a light patrol load and the photos I am using don't show anything being carried on a belt. But there are no clear pics showing how the bayonet is fixed to the body armour.

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

I've also seen photos where it's carried in the small of the back parallel to the ground. Of course I can't find any reference pics now.

The first pic here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/surrey/hi/p ... 519924.stm

shows the method Brian has mentioned. It's also interesting to see the 2 inch mortar still being carried at 2 mins 6 secs. I haven't seen one used in a modern bash yet.

Thanks both of you... that is a huge help.
The bash is now finished (although I still have to replace the cocking handle on his SA80 to make it an A2 version)
Also thanks for the 2" mortar check - guess what he will be carrying, heh heh

Thanks again guys

Iain
