Where does one go and what's the other one?!!

Hi,
Am currently doing a para group and wanted to know where the piat "holder" thingie goes and what the other item is.

Ah! OK, I think the item on the left is a hand-guard/heat shield which wraps around the barrel of a 2 inch mortar.

I think the thing you have the PIAT projectile in is actually the padded butt-pad from the PIAT.

But I could be wrong!

No i think you're right!-Well done, i obviously presumed it was to fit the shell in-what a dimwit!
The other bit i must of bought loose at some stage-body armour looks right but i don't know if paras ever wore it

The body armour is called MRC (Medical Research Council) body armour and I believe it was used to a limited extent at Arnhem, and by some glider Pilots. A quick Google for MRC body armour will get you some good hits and photos.

Hey Pete, Have a look at this thread in the link below.
Down near the bottom, you will see an illustration of a Para wearing this armour.
